The African Economic Research Consortium (AERC), in conjunction with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affair's Knowledge Platform on Inclusive Development (INCLUDE), has been carrying out collaborative research on "Work and Income for Young Men and Women in Africa: a political economy and social equity approach to the employment potential of specific sectors and subsectors in African economies." In conducting this study, Nigeria is one of the few countries selected for case study research on the subject matter.
The Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG), in collaboration with AERC, will be hosting in-country dissemination of the research findings on "Sectoral Development: Assessing the Conditions that drive Youth Employment in Key Sectors of the Nigerian economy". The workshop will cascade the research findings in the Nigerian space targeting policymakers and key stakeholders that can drive policy implementation in Nigeria and share feedback on the study for AERC to relay back to their stakeholder partners.
