This event directly impacts all 5 of the summit themes of High and Sustained Growth, Quality of Life, National Security, Political Economy, and Digital Transformation but more specifically targeting the last 2 sub-themes of Political Economy and Government Digital Transformation.

E-Government Implementation in Nigeria ranks highest in the implementation of the Nigeria Digital Economy Policy and Strategy because of its cross-cutting initiatives like e-Education, e-Agriculture, e-Health, e-Procurement, e-Finance and the digitization of government information. Once these initiatives as contained in the NEGMP are implemented, Government Digitally transforms and creates opportunities for the Digital Economy.

This Pre-summit event will address the Digital Transformation sub-theme of the #NES 27 while providing a legal framework for the Senate and House of Representatives to enact the e-Government Bill that will deliver on the required Government Digital Transformation and resolutions and action plans will feed directly into the summit itself.

Pre-Summit Objectives

This Pre-Summit Event for #NES 27 seeks to:

1. Kick start the conversation for Government Digital Transformation into the #NES 27;

2. Galvanize stakeholders to begin conversations for a Legislative Framework for the NEGMP and ensure opportunities are created for Private Sector ICT Companies.

3. Lay the legal and institutionalization framework for the implementation of the Nigeria E-Government Masterplan;

4. Identify the vital imperatives for the successful implementation of the 25 Initiatives of the Nigeria E-Government Masterplan.
