The CEO Water Mandate is a UN Global Compact initiative that mobilizes business leaders on water, sanitation, and the Sustainable Development Goals. Endorsers of the CEO Water Mandate commit to continuous progress against core elements of stewardship and in so doing understand and manage their own water risks.

Despite efforts and interventions on water resources management over the years, there is a huge gap in investment and development of solutions for the protection and sustainable management of water resources. There is therefore an opportunity for the private sector, through the CEO Water Mandate, to engage with key actors in the sector, and work towards putting in place measures that will support sustainable management of water resources to meet human and business needs.

It is on this premise that the Nigerian Economic Summit Group in collaboration with the UN Global Compact seek to launch the CEO Water Mandate as a platform for State and non-State actors to collaborate on issues around water resources management and water resilience in Nigeria.
