NESG Pays Minister of Aviation Courtesy Visit, Reiterates the Importance of Infrastructure to Economic Development

Abuja, Nigeria. The Board of Directors of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) and members of its Infrastructure Policy Commission paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika and Directors of the Ministry of Aviation.

The Chief Executive Officer of the NESG, Mr. ‘Laoye Jaiyeola who led the entourage of the NESG to the ministry congratulated Senator Hadi Sirika on his reappointment as the Honourable Minister for Aviation and reaffirmed the appreciation of the NESG for the continued cooperation and collaboration over the years through the Infrastructure Policy Commission. He also congratulated the Honourable Minister on being a recipient of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Council President's Award which he received in recognition of the outstanding work he does in Aviation security across the nation's airports.

Furthermore, Mr. Jaiyeola commended the minister for the several accomplishments he has made over the years including the resurfacing of the Abuja airport runway and commissioning of the new terminals at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja and Port Harcourt International Airport, on-going work at Lagos and Enugu Airports, and recently the acquisition of the calibration aircraft that will aid in navigational/landing procedures. “The NESG Infrastructure Policy Commission is structured to follow through on infrastructure specific issues with a view to ensuring the formulation, adoption and implementation of appropriate policies by relevant government agencies”, Mr Jaiyeola said. He reiterated that the aviation sector remains paramount in the work of the NESG and that called for collaborative efforts that will elevate the sector into being regionally and globally competitive.
