H.E. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR

Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo is the Executive Governor of Anambra State, bringing a distinguished background as an accomplished macroeconomist, professor, and public administrator. A globally respected scholar, he previously served as the Governor and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), where he spearheaded the historic 2004 banking sector consolidation that fundamentally restructured and strengthened Nigeria’s financial architecture. Before his election to public office, he held prominent academic and advisory positions, including Professor of Economics at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and consultant to major international institutions such as the World Bank, IMF, and United Nations. Since assuming office as governor, Professor Soludo has focused his administration on transformative infrastructural development, industrialization, human capital enhancement, and good governance, positioning Anambra State as a vibrant hub for commerce and innovation. An alumnus of the University of Nigeria and a recipient of the national honor of Commander of the Federal Republic (CFR), he continues to apply rigorous economic principles and strategic vision to drive sustainable regional development and economic prosperity.
