2nd NESG International Conference on Infrastructure Development in Nigeria.                           This programme was encouraged because of the government and private sector reception of the first international conference on infrastructure development, which aimed at   educating and creating awareness of how Private Public Partnership (PPP) schemes can facilitate development of infrastructure in key sectors. The Nigerian Economic Summit  Group (NESG) organized the second international conference on infrastructure development in Nigerian between 12th-13th July, 2007 at the  Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.

The second International Conference on Infrastructure Development was designed to do an impact assessment with a view to identifying the next level action agenda for infrastructure projects by both the federal and state governments under the PPP framework.   Hence, the theme: “Infrastructure Maintenance and Development – The new Challenges for Nigeria ”. The conference was declared  open by the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Jonathan Goodluck – represented by the Executive Secretary of the  National Planning Commission, Prof. Sylvester Monye. Papers presented at the conference by both international and local resource persons and     the discussions that ensued covered: Expansion and Maintenance of Transportation Infrastructure; States & Local Governments as Partners in     Infrastructure Development; Water Laws and Infrastructure; and Drawbacks to Telecommunications Development among other issues.
