The 2004 priority research programme has been
designed in tune with the vision and mission of
the Organization and in accordance with the five
growth drivers considered germane for rapid
economic growth and transformation of the
economy:

creation - SME and Informal Sector, Agriculture,
Banking/Finance
- HIV/AIDS in
the Work place – Human Capital
- Social
and Physical Infrastructure – Infrastructure and
Competitive Industrialization
- Sector
Reforms and Privatization -
Pivatization/Deregulation, Budget/Macroeconomic
- Savings
and Investment Climate – Oil/Gas, NEPAD, Solid
Minerals & Investment.
Four core
research areas were identified from the 13 work
programs which funnel into the growth drivers for
execution in 2004. These are:
